
OVERVIEW OF THE DEPARTMENT :- Founded in 1982, the Department of Computer Applications has become one of the college's leading departments, consistently attracting a large number of students. Throughout the years, it has played a pivotal role in shaping the careers of numerous successful individuals. The department has had a profound impact by meeting the educational needs of students not only from urban areas but also from economically disadvantaged and underprivileged communities in the rural villages surrounding Dharmavaram.
ESTABLISHMENT AND UPGRADATION OF COMPUTER LAB:- In 1998 the Self-financed B.Com (Computer Application) course was introduced, and a Computer ab was established to support the Program.The lab was equipped with:
EXPANSION AND DEVELOPMENT :- When the institution first started out, it was a composite college with undergraduate programs. In response to the growing demand, the college launched the B.Com (Computer Applications) course in 1998 as a self-financed program with a sanctioned intake of 50 students, acknowledging the effects of globalization, privatization, and liberalization. With an approved enrollment of 40 students, the college further broadened its academic offerings in the 2023–2024 academic year by adding a B.Com. Major in Computer Applications.
Programme Education Objectives (PEO’s) :- To Provide highly qualified and motivated graduates through rigorous curriculum of theory and application that develops the ability to solve problems., individually and in teams. To inculcate in students multi-disciplinary approach, professional attitude and ethics, communication and team work skills and ability to relate Computer Applications issues.
Programme Specific Objectives (PSO’s):- Ability: To design a s/w system, components, processes to meet the desired needs. To design, implement and evaluate secure To H/W or S/W systems with assured quality. Skills: Skills to use modern S/W and H/W tools. To analyse the tools for automation problems.Real Life Problems: Ability to analyse, identify and formulate and solve real life problems. Conduct Experiments analyse and interpret relevant data.
